How We Are Funded?
Under the US Department of Education, OCTAE Division (Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education) there are two branches, Career & Technical Education (CTE) and Adult Education.
Our Adult Education program, the Career & College Readiness Center (CCRC) is funded in two ways: with a grant under the Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA), Title II Adult Education and Literacy as well as funds from Great Falls Public Schools specifically marked for Adult Education. We are located at Great Falls College MSU but Great Falls Public Schools oversees all funding and services offered through CCRC.
Our WIOA funding requires us to serve eligible individuals in the Montana Association of Counties, District 5 region. This encompasses the following counties: Cascade, Teton, Toole, Pondera, and Glacier.
In Montana, both CTE & WIOA Adult Education programs are overseen by the Office of Public Instruction (OPI). There are 12 adult education programs in the state of Montana that receive funding under the WIOA Grant but only a portion of those programs are also tied to school districts. All Adult Ed programs are aligned to the Career & College Readiness Standards.
WIOA requires CORE partners to work collaboratively utilizing multiple resources, businesses, service organizations, and educational institutions to empower shared clients. By working together, we are removing barriers, providing opportunities, and building stronger communities.
